Labour Say To Arts: Four Years Till Fair Funding12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Tue 12th Jun 2007 Commenting about the threats of diversion of Arts and Heritage funding to the Olympics, Lib Dem Arts and Heritage Spokesman Paul Holmes MP said: "The continued threats to Arts and Heritage funding from the Olympics reached a head on Wednesday, when Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Culture, Media and SportDavid Lammy admitted that many arts projects may have to wait four years, until the Olympics conclude, for adequate funding How much more culture must we lose before the Government finally finds a more reasonable way to fund these Olympics? I believe there are better ways to fund these Olympics, and to save money from the ever-increasing cost. Arts and Heritage could do a lot more with £400,000 than make a logo that is universally reviled. Unfortunately, the minister did not address any of my concerns in our debate. Today, I have sent him a letter seeking clarification and demanding answers to many of these issues."
