Paul Holmes MP is seeking bring to the attention of all those who served in the UK Armed Forces before 31st December, 1969, that they might be entitled to a "Veterans badge."

Commenting, Paul Holmes said:

"I would like to encourage any local veterans to apply for the badge, it's very important that their contributions and sacrifices are recognised and honoured."

The following can also qualify: Merchant Navy seamen, Home Guard, Polish Forces under UK command, members of the Cypress regiment during the Second World War, Veterans of the Suez Canal Zone (1951 - 54) as well as war widows and war widowers who receive a War Widows/War Widowers Pension. Regrettably, the badge cannot be issued posthumously as it is a survivors' badge, which is to be worn on civilian clothing.

If anyone feels that they might qualify for this badge they are welcome to contact Paul Holmes' office, address below, or phone 01246 234879 for an application form.
