Chesterfield MP Paul Holmes and Council Leader Ray Russell took a guided tour around the inside of the new Staveley Healthy Living Centre on Friday.

Paul said "the progress is amazing. The main building work is all but complete and work is already starting on fitting out the interior. The first customers should be able to enjoy the facilities from February."

"This is not just an old style Leisure Centre. Although the swimming pool is at the centre of the development, the Leisure Suite on the floor above is huge and has panoramic views out past Staveley Church Tower to the fields beyond.

With climbing walls, aerobics and dance spaces, a spa and sauna, it will cater for all tastes. The children's adventure playroom looks so good the adults will want to have to a go!"

Ray Russell said, "This is a facility to be proud of. Its design has borrowed from the best that the private sector provides. At long last the people of Staveley will have the safe and modern leisure facilities they have wanted and deserved for the last 30 years."
