The Latest on Gamezone!

Funding for Gamezone has now been secured thanks to the hard work of Ducky Councillors Jean Yates and Bev Capenter, along with your Borough Councillors Paul Mann, Mick Bagshaw & Ruth Perry. It will run for 10 weeks starting on Wednesday 13th February at the Miner's Welfare in Ducky. It will be on from 6pm -8pm and anyone aged 8-16 can attend. We look forward to seeing you there!

Ducky Gamezone Success

Following the success of Gamezone in Middlecroft, Cllr Jean Yates has been working hard to get a Gamezone for Ducky too. Jean and your local Lib Dem Focus team have been working with Gamezone Manager Mick Samuel, Council officers and the Community Safety Partnership to get a branch of the youth club in Duckmanton for a trial period starting in December.

Gamezone is staffed by volunteers and provides a great service to young people who can go along and play on playstations and karaoke machines, play pool and watch plasma tvs. A safe and fun play to hang out means that kids no longer need to hang around outside. We hope that the Ducky Gamezone proves as successful as the Middlecroft club!

Staveley Town Council Success

Since the Lib Dems took control of Staveley Town Council this May, the Council has gone from strength to strength. Under the Leadership of Cllr Mick Bagshaw and Deputy Leader Cllr Paul Mann, the Lib Dems in Staveley have provided free fireworks with the best display yet. The town looks radiant with more money spent on improving the look of the area, including lots of new hanging baskets and flowers. Watch this space for more news from Staveley Town Council, the Lib Dems have lots more plans in the pipeline to restore Staveley back to its former glory.
